YESTERDAY IS HISTORY
TOMORROW IS A MYSTERY
& TODAY IS THE PRESENT
So, what does this actually mean some people ask! Well it means exactly what is says:
Yesterday is gone, it is past, it is over! It can now officially be labeled history as it cannot be changed.
Tomorrow is indeed a mystery; for who, save a reliable tarot card reader, a psychic, a scientologist and an astrologist can truly predict what the future will bring ;-)).
Today is the present and it is also "the present"! I look at it as a gift from what I would encompass under the overall label of "god or goddess"! It is a present in that fate could have twisted the strings of reality so as to yield: a crippling (if not fatal) car accident, food poisoning, AIDS, fire, etc. etc. etc. BUT it didn't!
We should embrace each new day (our presents) as a pre-school child embraces the very arrival of Christmas! Just as bright-eyed children, we should all truly rush to open our presents because many of them are "dated". Not opening the card from your "Aunt Mitzy" because you were "not motivated enough" might normally be seen as no big deal. It would have been a big deal though had you later discovered that this letter contained a dated lottery ticket which would have made you 15 milion dollars richer.
