Are You Dependant on Extrernal Validation
I have discovered for myself that our entire education system seeks to make you dependant on external validation to justify your own worth. How does society and/or a group of your peers value you?
In the USA and possibly in the whole world, people will soon become as cheap and “replaceable” as microwave ovens or worse yet, a 60 watt light bulb. Case in point: I bought a fine X-Brand microwave in 1990 for $250.00! It was a strong, sturdy, and dependable microwave but it died in 2004. Getting it repaired? Absurd Idea! So, I went and bought a somewhat comparable replacement for $60.00. Corporations think the same way with their employees. With people going to cookie cutter colleges, what will distinguish one cookie from the next? Nothing! Nothing visible, that is!
Society, which controls public education, does not want someone to develop as an independent free-thinking person on his own accord; nor do they want him to learn more than need be, lest he become a threat to said controlling body (i.e. the status quo)! They want to steer his development so as to lead to the formation of another expendable cog in the machine that is American controlled capitalism something the French-Canadians call “Capitalism Sauvage” (savage capitalism). Expendable, you may ask? How can anyone in their right mind relegate human beings as being expendable? Simple this relegation of human beings as being expendable comes about primarily because with the full industrialization of India and China, there will be a greater demand on existing natural resources and also an exceedingly ample supply of educated workers. So now, with more to chose from coupled with the shrinking number of companies due to mergers and acquisitions, only the cutting edge workers who view the employing corporation / company-body as the raison d’etre of their very existence will be given full employment!!! Imagine for one minute the chilling ring of a crowd crying a somewhat familiar chant, “All hail the fourth Reich, thy name be GE!”.
Well, we can give in to the social pressures and be
reasonable and adjust ourselves to the world or we can decide not to. Remember
George Bernard Shaw’s catchy phrase, “The reasonable man adjusts himself to
the world and the unreasonable man adjusts the world to himself therefore all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
