Gay Tantra
In order to study Tantra and Tantric bodywork, many people have chosen to go to a teacher and or swami. There they learn things such as Cobra Breath and Kundalini and Shiva and Shakti for example. Just to note, the list of these terms goes on. I have also spoken to a few "Tantric practitioners about cobra breath and they have informed me that the lay individual is not ready to handle such a dynamic energy without readiness. This is basically telling me that the people must first be indoctrinated into the very teachings of Tanta as people were "indoctrinated" into this "enigma of the 80s" called EST.
In order to learn Tantra and experience true Kundalini energy... once again, we must shed ourselves of all the prejudices and garbage that years of societal and religious programming have instilled in us. Think of it in terms of a computer. When we get the computer from the store it has the operating system and a core set of programs already installed. This is comparable to a baby being born. It too has it's operating system installed along with a core set of programs.
The child's core program is to feel connected to the people places and things which surround him. The life force of the child came from the great pool of eternal energy which comprises all of existence. There is no solitude. You are a part of everything and everything is a part of you. When your physical body dies, the matter of which it was composed becomes the food for predatory animals and later after having decayed in the earth becomes the food for plants which produce fruits and vegetables along with oxygen which humans and animals need to survive. Your life force goes back into the pool of eternal energy that is infinity. This is the circle of life.
Tantra also teaches us how to channel energy between our body's energy foci called chakras. The common belief is that there are seven distinct chakras in the human body in which a person feels this seething pulsating energy. Several "Tantric Teachers" will claim that they have mastered this art to such a point that they can funnel their energy from one chakra to another so that the energy between all seven of them flows freely like water in a main with all the valves open. NEWSFLASH: We were also able to do that at the time when we were very small children. Think back on childhood innocence. I can think back to a time in my childhood when every day was a beautiful new day filled with new joys and new adventures. Each day was magic. I was lucky in that I grew up in a very liberal European household in which no part of the body was ever shunned. My parents gave me the chance to explore new things and to make mistakes and to learn.
But we do grow up and we are expected to behave differently. We are expected to behave like grown-ups. When the truth of the matter is that we are still little insecure children deep within. We still need love and care and attention. We still need the to be given the opportunity to learn and to grow. Yet what happens? W are not given that opportunity. Instead we are placed in holding cells of expected and proper behavior norms. We must dress accordingly, walk, talk, and behave accordingly all in an effort to uphold said society's existing status quo. When we now dare to experiment in ways which were regarded as innocent during our childhood, (for example a man touching a woman) we are punished because that is forbidden in this stage of our life cycle. It is the powers-that-be's way of saying, "you should have been programmed by now NOT to touch. That not being the case, we will sentence you to prison for reprogramming."
So what do we do, we learn these same terms and flaunt their utilization to the masses in an effort to show them, "Lookie, I am a learned Tantric expert, I can unite my Shiva with my Shakti." Hoo-ray (yawn).
Away with the mantras, yantras, cobra breath and yes, even the cobras (had to throw that one in). This dilemma could indeed parallel the reformation in which Martin Luther chastised the Catholic Church for their overt use of religious "paraphernalia" and "hype". He basically wanted to get back to basics and get to the real message which Jesus and his disciples tried to give all of humanity.
The same exists in the world of Tantra. Shiva, Shakti, Kundaklini, Cobra Breath, Yantra Mantras and Mulhadara are just the tip of the iceberg. Some people feel that by learning all of these terms and their definitions / history / an context in which they are used they will be able to call themselves Tantric Masters and perform Tantric Healing.
This is about as similar as someone going to massage school and learning all the book material but when it comes to doing an actual massage falters completely and does a worse job than say a man totally uneducated in the field of therapeutic massage who is picked at random from a crowd.
Tantra and the mastery thereof are really quite simple. I personally can credit the validation of my own personal beliefs on the subject of Tantra and Tantric Massage to Osho.
We are born into this world with the full power of being one with the universe. Basically, we are born totally innocent and also with a never ending curiosity which seeks to uncover the truth to our existence. In order to do this, we like to touch and have human contact with whatever we encounter. But alas all good things come to an end.
At this point, the control mechanisms are carefully put into place. This being the case, parents, churches and society quickly instill in the child that he was born with original sin and that no matter how "good" he is and how many "good" deeds he does, he will never eliminate that original sin.
So for the next 18 years the parents, churches and society destroy that child's connection to the universe and his internal love. They want to normalize the child so as to become societally functional, all the while failing to realize that they have turned him into an emotional quadriplegic.
Some people of strong character are somehow immune to all of this programming and are never caught up in the scene. There are others however who accept it without any hesitation and are later so caught up in it that they are even willing to kill and /or die for these socio-religiously imposed beliefs and values none of which they had any part in originating. This would be an extreme representation of the "go-with-the-flow" way of thinking. Most people find it so much easier to adopt an already established religion, lifestyle, career, and set of values because this supposedly eliminates confusion and uncertainty. This establishes an order which some people feel they need in order to live when in truth it establishes a cell in which most of mankind simply exists. After careful examination of our society it becomes painfully obvious that there are many followers and very few leaders.
